- What RTIN learns stays on your computer. Your routine, the apps you use and the text you ask about are never uploaded.
- No ads, no tracking, no selling. The RTIN app has no analytics or crash reporting. This website counts visits anonymously, without cookies.
- You are in control. Pause learning, block apps, or erase everything from the menu bar at any time.
Who we are
RTIN is a desktop assistant for macOS and Windows. This policy covers the RTIN app and this website. Questions go to privacy@rtinn.online.
Your account
If you choose Continue with Google, Google tells RTIN your name, email address and profile picture. That is all RTIN asks for: the sign-in requests only the openid, email and profile scopes. RTIN does not ask for offline access and keeps no Google access or refresh tokens.
Your profile is stored on your computer, encrypted with your system keychain. Signing out deletes it. You can also use RTIN without an account.
RTIN’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
What RTIN learns, and where it stays
To suggest your next step, RTIN notes which app is in front and when, for example “Figma, weekday mornings”. It keeps this history in a file on your computer and lets old activity fade after about two weeks. It is never sent to us or anyone else.
- Turn learning off from the menu bar, or in setup.
- Block an app with “Don’t learn from …”. Password managers are never learned from or read.
- Erase everything with “Forget everything”, which deletes the history on the spot.
Help with code and messages
When you press Tab twice, RTIN can read the text you have selected, or the text field you are typing in, so it can explain code or polish a message. This uses your operating system’s accessibility permission, which you grant and can revoke at any time.
- It reads only when you ask, and only the selected text or the focused field.
- It never reads password fields, and never reads password managers.
- The text is processed by the AI model built into your Mac (Apple’s on-device model) and is not sent over the internet.
- RTIN changes your text only after you press Replace, and you can undo it.
Cloud AI (optional, off by default)
If your computer has no on-device AI (Windows PCs, Intel Macs, and Macs before macOS 26) and you turn on Cloud AI, RTIN asks RTIN’s server to check and word a suggestion, and the server asks Google’s Gemini API, or when Gemini is unavailable, a backup provider: xAI (Grok), Groq, Cerebras or OpenRouter. That request contains only the suggested action, app names, times and how often you accepted or dismissed suggestions, never the contents of your screen, files or messages. Our server doesn’t store these requests; it keeps your IP address in memory for a few minutes only to limit abuse. Help with code and messages never uses cloud AI. These providers process the requests under their own terms, and free tiers may use them to improve their models.
Permissions RTIN asks for
- Input Monitoring (macOS): to notice when you press Tab. RTIN listens only for the Tab key and does not record what you type.
- Accessibility (macOS): to read selected text when you ask, and to type the result back when you press Replace.
This website
This site uses no cookies and no advertising or tracking scripts, and its fonts are served from this site.
To see how many people visit, we use Vercel Web Analytics. It records the page you viewed, the site that sent you, your country, and your browser, operating system and device type. It sets no cookies and does not follow you across other websites; visitors are told apart only by a hash that resets every day. We see totals, not individuals.
Our hosting provider, Vercel, may also keep standard server logs (such as IP address and time of request) for security.
Payments
If you buy RTIN Pro or Max, payment is handled by our payment provider. We receive confirmation of your plan, not your full card details.
Children
RTIN is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Your choices and rights
Because your activity history stays on your device, you can view and delete it yourself. To ask about any other information we hold about you, or to have it deleted, email privacy@rtinn.online. You can remove RTIN’s access to your Google account at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
